The Perfect Lamb Without Blemish or Defect

God’s requirement for a sacrifice is absolute perfection. The Passover lamb had to be meticulously examined and found without any flaw, a standard that no ordinary person or animal could permanently meet. This rigorous standard points to a profound need for a perfect, sinless sacrifice to atone for sin. It was a temporary solution that foreshadowed a permanent and final answer to the problem of separation from a holy God. The entire Old Testament system was built on this principle, preparing the way for the one who would fulfill it completely.

Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. (Exodus 12:5 ESV)
As you consider the perfect, sinless nature of Jesus, the ultimate Lamb, what area of your own life feels most distant from that standard of holiness? How does the reality that Christ met this standard on your behalf change your approach to that area?
