The Light That Breaks the Darkness

The first Sunday of Advent at Life House Church was filled with joy, anticipation, and the glow of Christmas lights. A special THANK You to Jane and everyone who came and helped her decorate the church for Christmas.
Ric and Pam White led us in lighting the first Advent candle — the Candle of Hope — and read from Isaiah 9:2–3.
✨ “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.” – Isaiah 9:2
As the flame flickered to life, it reminded us that Jesus came as the Light of the World, bringing hope to every heart that feels lost or weary.
Isaiah’s prophecy describes Jesus with four powerful titles:
Isaiah was speaking to a people surrounded by fear, war, and despair. Their world was filled with shadows, but God promised that darkness would not have the final word.
Just like the people of Israel, we, too, live in a world clouded by anxiety, division, and uncertainty. Yet the same promise still stands: the light has dawned. No matter how deep the darkness feels, the light of Christ is stronger still. He is the Savior who was sent to bring peace, joy, and redemption to every heart willing to receive Him.

Isaiah’s prophecy describes Jesus with four powerful titles:
- Wonderful Counselor – the source of wisdom and guidance.
- Mighty God – our protector and strength.
- Everlasting Father – loving and eternal.
- Prince of Peace – the ruler who restores harmony and stills the storms of life.
