Viewing Our Resources Through the Lens of Eternity

We often get lulled to sleep by the day-to-day demands of life, losing sight of the eternal reality God has placed in our hearts. Having an eternal perspective vastly changes how we see our time, our treasures, and our talents. God desires to use temporal people to make an eternal impact, reaching the people He loves most. When we store up treasures in heaven rather than focusing solely on earthly success, we invest in what truly lasts. This shift in vision brings light into our entire lives and keeps us from being bogged down by fleeting moments. By seeing people as eternal beings, we begin to value what God values most.

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:19-20, ESV)

Think of one person in your life who doesn't know Christ; how might viewing them as an "eternal being" change the way you invest your time or energy in that relationship this week?
